The Simpson McCreath Trust “tumbles” into sponsorship with Berwick Gymnastics Club

Local Berwick sports club, Berwick Gymnastics Club, benefits from a generous grant from local charity The Simpson McCreath Trust.

Berwick Gymnastics Club provides a quality gymnastics experience for young people, encouraging them to take up sport, whilst focusing on improving their talent and maintaining a life long participation in the sport.

The cheque for £5,000, presented by Simpson McCreath Trust trustee Simon Simpson OBE, will be used to buy a new competition standard tumble track for the club.

Head Coach at Berwick Gymnastics Club, Debbie Couch, said: “We are committed to developing a culture of excellence in providing high quality gymnastics training and competition opportunities in a safe and secure environment.

“The sponsorship money from The Simpson McCreath Trust will be used to equip the gym with a new tumble track, something the team are very excited about! We are delighted to accept this generous cheque and have The Simpson McCreath Trust as a local sponsor.”

Simon Simpson OBE, Simpson McCreath Trust trustee commented: “We are more than happy to be supporting local initiatives, especially those involving the development and training of young people.

“The team at Berwick Gymnastics are fantastic and we are pleased the money has been well spent and can’t wait to see their next display.”

The Simpson McCreath Trust supports a wide variety of organisations in the borough of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, particularly with small donations for specific projects. Reflecting the interests of the trustees, the trust is particularly active in the areas of culture and sport.
