Represent campaigns of the year: 2018

2018 has been an amazing year for Represent!

Our lovely team has grown, and so has our group of awesome clients. We’ve loved working with our clients to help them achieve their vision and cultivate their audiences – it’s what gets us up in the morning!

Since the needs of different clients and indeed different sectors can vary significantly, we offer a whole range of services to achieve the best results. From PR initiatives, content creation, digital marketing strategies, social media creation and everything in between, our campaigns have been tailored to each individual client.

It’s impossible to have a favourite campaign of 2018, as we have worked on such a variety of projects – so here are a few of our highlights from the last 12 months…

Blair Drummond – HalloWild

Trying to stand out in a crowded market over the Halloween period can be pretty harrowing. Luckily, our team was on hand to secure maximum media attention for Blair Drummond Safari Park’s Halloween attraction, HalloWild.

Using an enchanting media release and some super spooky photos, we conjured up intrigue. Securing scarily good coverage in publications like the Metro, Daily Record and the Daily Mail.

Pretty spooktacular, don’t you think?

National Wallace Monument – Scotland’s Heroines

Having worked with the National Wallace Monument to launch the Scotland’s Heroines project in 2017, including promoting the public vote to decide the first Scottish woman to be cast in stone as busts at the Monument’s Hall of Heroes, we had already secured coverage in media such as the BBC, The Scotsman and The Herald.

In 2018, it was time to officially unveil the final, newly created busts. We promoted the key messages of the Scotland’s Heroines project and helped drum up excitement around the unveiling. With some fantastic press photography and an opinion-led media relations initiative, we secured significant coverage for our client, with a combined reach of over 3.5m!

Independent Living Fund Scotland #TrySomethingNew

Towards the end of the year, we started an incredible campaign (that’s still underway!) with ILF Scotland. ILF wanted to tell young disabled people aged 16-21 about the funding available to them as part of its Transition Fund. These young people can apply for money to take part in activities that build their confidence and help them participate in their communities, with the overall goal of increasing their independence. To help promote this we created the campaign #TrySomethingNew.

Weaving this key message throughout all communications, we implemented an integrated media strategy to reach our audiences. This included a social media strategy to reach our younger audience, a traditional media outreach to reach their parents and carers, video case studies, photography and digital content. We’ve already seen an increase in applications to the Fund and we’re so proud to be a part of this!

Simpsons Malt – A Beer with…

Simpsons Malt is a family-run maltster in its fifth generation. A huge factor in the success of this long-running business is the solid relationships it has built with all of its stakeholders – employees, distributors and customers.

To help Simpsons Malt reinforce their community values, we developed a blog series called ‘A beer with…’ where we ask customers, distributors and industry partners questions about their passions, how they got involved in the brewing or distilling industry and even the strangest place they’ve ever had a beer!

Have a read of the ‘A beer with…’ series.

Royal Highland Show 2018

2018 marked our ten-year anniversary working with The Royal Highland Show. To mark the occasion, we took Emily the blackface sheep, the official mascot of the 2018 Show for a day out in the centre of Edinburgh with her wee lamb.

Capturing video and photography of this trip to St Andrews Square, we maximised our reach of the show through traditional print media as well as online channels.

The aim was to get stand-out for the Show, and we did just that – with the 2018 four-day event welcoming a whopping 189,851 visitors!

We’re passionate about boosting of our clients’ profiles to help make them as successful as they can be. Every client has a different story – our job is to tell that story in a way that has the biggest impact.
