4 things we’re looking forward to in 2021

2021 has started against the backdrop of another lockdown, however hope is on the horizon with the start of the vaccine program and the thought that one day Covid-19 will be nothing more than a distant memory.

With each new year comes new hope and excitement for the months ahead, and there is plenty to look forward to. Here are the four things we at Represent are most looking forward to in 2021…

The Royal Highland Show

Our long-time client and Scotland’s biggest outdoor event, the Royal Highland Show, was unable to take place last year. Such was the outpouring of sadness for what would be a ‘no show’ year, organisers switched to an online event which was great, but didn’t touch the sides on the real deal.

That’s why we’re super excited that the 2021 show will take place with tickets already on sale.  We cannot wait for four days of lovely livestock, fantastic food & drink and all the best that rural Scotland has to offer! And while it is a really busy time for Team Represent, we are so looking forward to meeting up with our media friends in a busy press room later on this year.. and share a drink in the brand new Members’ area.

Rosebery Steading opens its doors

Rosebery Venues had big plans to reveal their newest exclusive-hire venue, Rosebery Steading, last year and while we did our best to launch it virtually, we haven’t had the chance to show off the venue in its full glory!

We’ve loved revealing Rosebery Steading on social media, press and online through beautiful photography and video, but we know that nothing will match a tour of the venue which will happen as soon as we are able to.  We’re so impatient to see footage of the first wedding to take place here – we know it’s going to be so special!

A non-virtual Graduate Exhibition at the Chippendale School

While the Chippendale International School of Furniture could still welcome some people to their in-person Graduate show this year, attendance was limited due to social distancing.

We worked with the School to create an online graduate show for those who couldn’t be there, and people loved being able to attend virtually through our range of videos displaying the graduates’ amazing designs. You can still see these videos on YouTube.

While the online show was brilliant, it is a heartening thought that we could once again be back in person for a full-blown celebration of their graduates’ hard work this year!

Getting back to hospitality

If there’s one thing we’ve been daydreaming about during the cold winter months, it has been the thought of hospitality & entertainment venues opening up again!

We badly miss our beloved bars, restaurants, hotels, concerts, spas and more – and of course the feeling of getting out and exploring our beautiful country.

First on our list to pay a visit to once restrictions allow is the incredible Taymouth Marina, which is set on an absolutely gorgeous spot on the banks of the majestic Loch Tay. Take a peek at their Instagram page and start your own wish list of what you’ll do and where you’ll go when we’re free to again!

And finally… getting back to the office!

Okay, we know we said this was only four things we’re looking forward to – but we couldn’t possibly miss out the excitement of the prospect of getting back into Represent HQ!

While we have adapted well to working from home, we all miss the connection of face-to-face chats with our colleagues and the energy of being together in the same room! We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it won’t be too long until we’re back into our beloved office again.
