Awards celebrations as Irish Business Network Scotland toasts successful first year

The Irish Business Network Scotland (IBNS) celebrated its one year anniversary in style last week, with a glittering awards ceremony showcasing the strength of business links between Ireland and Scotland.

The sell-out awards, on June 8th, were held at the Edinburgh City Chambers and attracted representatives from the construction, renewables, creative, professional services and the food & drink sectors, as well as representatives from the Scottish and Irish Governments.

We had a fantastic night at the awards! It was great getting to see everyone dolled up and dressed to the nines, complete with a glass of bubbly in hand – to celebrate the winners of course!  We made sure to snap some pictures of our own for our Twitter page.

Compared by broadcaster John Morrison, the winners on the night were:

Innovative Start-Up Award – Urban Tide

Inspirational Business Leader Award – John Dixon, Georgian Antiques

Social Impact Award – Green Tourism

Ireland Scotland Relations Award – Roadbridge

Congratulations from all of us here at Represent to the winners, but in particular to our wonderful client Green Tourism, who had a thoroughly well-deserved win with the Social Impact Award. Well done team!

Commenting on the night, IBNS Chairman Colm Moloney said:

“The Irish Business Network Scotland now represents an established and effective group of business leaders from Ireland based in Scotland, making IBNS the first stop for any Irish or Scottish business looking at export opportunities in both markets.”

The not-for-profit organisation was set up in June last year in order to connect business people of all levels from Ireland and Scotland to explore commercial opportunities.

12 months on from their launch event at Edinburgh Castle, IBNS is celebrating its success with both the Scottish Government and Enterprise Ireland reporting strong export figures.

Thanks for a brilliant night – and may we have many more amazing nights with the IBNS!
